About Become Investible
Become Investible (“BI”) is a platform for entrepreneurs and business owners to learn how to get their businesses funded.
Currently the BI team:
- Provides financial and strategic consulting to a range of clients, and producing related content for online and traditional platforms; and
- Hosts a Podcast and YouTube Channel featuring interviews of industry experts with a focus on unveiling best practices in optimizing a company’s operations to position it for long term sustainable wealth creation.
The Become Investible team comprises of finance, strategy and process management professionals. The founding directors have over thirty years of global experience across various sectors, including but not limited, to Financial Services, Film & Entertainment, Construction, Metals & Mining, and the Energy sector.
Kevin Valley, Founder, Managing Director: Mr. Valley has over 10 years of experience in corporate & investment banking, and capital markets research and analysis. He is currently the Head of the Investment Bank Syndication of KCL Capital Market Brokers Limited (KCL CMBL). His responsibilities include debt & equity financing, mergers & acquisition advisory, and capital markets placement and distribution. He holds a BSc from the University of the West Indies where he specialized in Banking & Finance and is also studying to become a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) – through a programme that is jointly offered by York University and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
Zahra Alleyne, Director: Ms. Alleyne has over 8 years of experience designing and implementing complex economic development projects. As a consultant with the World Bank, her projects have focused on private sector development and creating an enabling environment for business growth in the Caribbean, working with both government and private sector stakeholders. Ms. Alleyne holds a Bachelor in Arts from Yale University and MSc in International Relations from the University of the West Indies.
Zenon Alleyne, Director: Mr. Alleyne has over 8 years of experience in the local upstream energy sector. As a drilling engineer with BPTT for the past 7 years, his responsibilities include project management, process implementation, well engineering design as well as safe and efficient well delivery. Mr. Alleyne holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West Indies and an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Trinidad and Tobago.
Alicia Cooper, Director, Corporate Secretary: Ms. Cooper has over 8 years of experience in Investment Banking; she spent 2 years with the Global Industrials Group of UBS Investment Bank and 3 years with GHL (now EMP Media Partners) a media industry focused boutique investment bank, both in New York City. Ms. Cooper also completed several internships across the Financial Services industry in the United States and Canada and spent a year with Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services team in Trinidad and Tobago. Ms. Cooper’s experience has included mergers & acquisition analysis and advisory, debt and equity financing transactions, strategic reviews and company due diligence. Ms. Cooper holds an MBA from McGill University and BBA in Accounting (magna cum laude) from Howard University.
